In the poem “Three Years She Grew’ Lucy is shown as a lovely three year old child. She is taken up by Mother Nature under her care. The nature wishes to treat Lucy with law as well as impulse. She should feel the blessings of God even during the tough times of her life. She will be sportive and will enjoy the company of the nature. Lucy will learn the movement from the clouds, sense of humility from the trees and impelling character from the storm. Nature promises to transform her into a graceful and perfect women. But unfortunately she dies pre-maturely and the dreams of nature are shattered.
